3-Year-Old Girl, Teen Hurt in North Chicago Shooting (UPDATED)

A 19-year-old man was shot in the leg Tuesday, and the injured girl was treated at a hospital and released.

A 19-year-old man was shot in the leg, and a 3-year-old girl was hurt when gunfire broke out Tuesday in North Chicago, the Lake County News-Sun reports.

The shooting happened about 11:40 a.m. in the 1300 block of Victoria Avenue, according to the News-Sun.

The wounded 19-year-old was found by North Chicago police in the 900 block of 13th Street, the report stated. He was taken to the hospital, and his injuries were not life-threatening, the report added.

Police told the News-Sun that the girl suffered a leg injury, but it was uncertain whether it was from a bullet that grazed her or if she scraped herself when she fell. The girl was taken to the hospital, treated and released Tuesday, the News-Sun reported.

A gun was discovered under a vehicle in the 900 block of 13th Street, but no one has been charged in the case, according to the News-Sun.
