$66K Worth of Computers Stolen From Lake Bluff Middle School: Cops

All resources are behind the investigation of the large weekend theft.

About $66,000 worth of technology was stolen from Lake Bluff Middle School over the weekend, police say.

Lake Bluff police are investigating a computer heist that took place some time between Saturday night, May 9 and Monday morning, May 11. A total of 52 Apple computers were stolen, including 49 Macbook Airs and three Macbook Pros, according to the Daily North Shore.

A door on the west side of the building had been broken into when police arrived at 6:30 a.m. on Monday.

“Since this is one of the bigger thefts we’ve had in town in the recent past we are putting all of our resources behind it,” said Police Chief David Belmonte.
