
Lake Forest Scouts Flyweights Win League Championship
The Lake Forest Scouts 5th-6th Grade Flyweights concluded their
undefeated season by winning the league championship on Sunday October 27th
with a 19-0 victory over previously undefeated Kenilworth. Led by Head Coach Richard Mellado and
assisted by Parris Devine, Matt Clarkson and Steve Roemer the team finished 7-0
with victories against Deerfield, Glenview, Highland Park, Winnetka, Northbrook,
Buffalo Grove and previously mentioned Kenilworth. The team was equally strong on both sides of
the ball scoring over 150 points on offense as well as posting 5 shutouts on
defense.

Members of the team are Kevin Bires, Nicholas Clarkson, Eli
Franklin, James Gildersleeve, Robby Gray, Charlie Haggerty, Wyatt Horvat,
Jonathan Jasica, Jake Kovanda, Sam Long, Mick Malanfant, Parker Manelis, Gavin
Maxwell, Connor Morrison, Breck Nowik, Alex Pasinato, Patrick Roemer, Stephen
Shaul, and Demani Ward. For many of these boys, as well as coaches Mellado
& Devine, this is their second championship winning the Flyweight title in
2012 as well. Congratulations to all the players and coaches for such a
fantastic season.
