Arrests Over Unwanted Emails, Drunk Driving: Lake Forest Blotter

Incidents and arrests from the Lake Forest police blotter from Oct. 12 to Oct. 29.

LAKE FOREST, IL — The following information comes from the Lake Forest and Lake Bluff police departments and court records as a record of those arrested by police. Readers are reminded that an arrest is not an indication of guilt and criminal charges, which represent merely accusations by the state, are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Lake County Circuit Clerk of Courts. All persons named are innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

ARRESTS

A 20-year-old Zion man was pulled over around 6:20 a.m. on Oct. 13 in the area of Route 41 and Gage Lane and and found to be driving on a suspended license. He was also issued citations for speeding 78 mph in a 55 mph zone and illegal transportation of an open container of alcohol.

A 37-year-old Elmwood Park man was pulled over around 7:45 a.m. on Oct. 15 in the area of Waukegan Road and Route 60 for driving without valid plates. He was charged with driving with expired plates and a suspended license.

A 42-year-old Waukegan woman was arrested around 8:30 a.m. on Oct. 15 in the area of Westbridge Circle and Magnolia Lane and charged with driving without a valid license.

Michael J. Davis, 26, of the 1300 block of North Western Avenue in Lake Forest, was arrested around 4:45 p.m. on Oct. 15 after reportedly sending a series of harassing emails to staff at Lake Forest College. Officers had warned him not to have any contact with students or staff due to repeated email harassment.

Ana Catalan, 29, of the 2700 block of Galilee Avenue in Zion, was arrested around 3:45 a.m. on Oct. 20 in the area of Westleigh and Buena roads and charged with DUI – alcohol, driving without a license and cited for speeding 53 mph in a 35 mph zone and operating an uninsured vehicle. Police pulled over her speeding minivan on Westleigh Road and, after asking her to perform field sobriety tests, took her into custody on suspicion of drunk driving. She later produced a breath sample indicating a blood alcohol concentration of 0.119.

An 18-year-old Vernon Hills man was arrested around 3:30 a.m. on Oct. 21 in the area of Old Mill and Telegraph roads and charged with driving with a suspended license after police pulled him over for expired registration, for which he was also cited.

A 26-year-old North Chicago woman was arrested around 8:30 a.m. on Oct. 24 in the area of Route 60 and Waukegan Road and charged with driving with a suspended license and cited for expired registration following a traffic stop.

A 29-year-old Gurnee woman was arrested around noon on Oct. 26 in the 400 block of Skokie Highway and charged with driving with a suspended license following a traffic stop.
