Ben Carson Will Fundraise in Lake Forest December 9

Republican presidential hopeful to charge $1,000 for a photo.

Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson will make a campaign stop in Lake Forest next month.

Carson, one of the leading contenders for the 2016 nomination, will hold a fundraiser on Dec. 9 at the lakefront home of Michelle Parnell and Dr. Jeffrey Parnell, the Daily North Shore reports.

“The Lake Forest event was organized by our campaign finance team, which identifies and plans events across the country with people interested in supporting Dr. Carson’s candidacy and with people interested in learning more about Dr. Carson’s plan to heal, inspire and revive America,” Deana Bass, Carson’s campaign spokesperson, said in an email to the DNS.

But meeting the man who currently sits second in most Republican polls behind Donald Trump won’t be cheap. It’s $500 just to be awarded a donor entry to the general reception. Those who donate $1,000 or more will get into the VIP event and have their picture taken with Carson, who practiced as a pediatric neurosurgeon before running for President.

Those who make a $2,700 donation will also get an invitation with name recognition.

This won’t be the first time a big-name Republican will hit the shores of Lake Forest in an attempt to hold the nation’s highest office. The DNS points out Mitt Romney held two campaign events there during his unsuccessful run for the White House in 2012.
