Brick, Rock Used In Home Break-Ins: Lake Forest Crime Reports

LAKE FOREST, IL — The following information comes from the Lake Forest Police Department as a record of those arrested by police. Readers are reminded that an arrest is not an indication of guilt and criminal charges, which represent merely accusations by the state, are often dropped or reduced. All persons named are innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
INCIDENTS
BANK ROBBERY
A man wearing blue jeans, dark jacket, wearing a dark hat and ski mask, white gloves and tan duck boots robbed the Fifth Third Bank on Waukegan Road after presenting the teller with a demand note and implying he had a weapon. The suspect was last seen exiting the bank on foot after taking an unknown amount of cash. Police and the FBI continue to investigate the incident. HOME BURGLARY
Police responded to a home in the the 200 block of Ahwahnee Lane at 5:25 p.m. on Jan. 10 for a report of a residential burglary. Officers determined that someone had used a rock to break a window and enter the home.

Police responded to an address in the 400 block of Linden Avenue at 11:41 p.m. on Jan. 11 for a report of a residential burglary. Officers determined that someone had used a brick to break open a sliding glass door and enter a home. » In both home burglaries, investigators are working on figuring out the the precise time each incident occurred and identifying possible suspects. Anyone with any information about the incidents was asked to contact Detective Milczarek at the Lake Forest Police Department.

ARRESTS/CITATIONS
Michelle K. Debrocke, 35, of the 3500 block of Old Mill Road, Highland Park, was arrested shortly after 1 a.m. on Jan. 7 near the intersection of Sheridan and Old Mill Road near Fort Sheridan. Officers on patrol noticed a black jeep with its hazard lights on parked in front of a locked gate and checked on the driver. While speaking with the driver, officers noticed a 4-year-old girl in the back seat and said the driver, Debrocke, appeared intoxicated. She reportedly admitted to having "two drinks earlier." After standard field sobriety tests, her arrest and a breath test indicating a blood alcohol concentration of 0.162 – more than twice the legal limit – she was charged with DUI and endangering the life of a child.
A 26-year-old Northfield man was issued a citations for possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop on a dark colored Kia that had only one working headlight at 3:49 a.m. on Jan. 14 at Route 60 and South Ridge Road. The officer on the scene reported immediately smelling marijuana coming from the vehicle when the driver rolled down the window and noticing the "remnants of a green leafy substance" on the driver's clothes and parts of the car. The motorist also provided police with a marijuana pipe.
Christian Lopez, 29, of the 2300 block of North Meyer Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 6 p.m. on Jan. 14 in the 100 block of Quail Drive and charged with multiple counts of possession of stolen property and one count of obstruction of justice – with more potential charges possible pending the outcome of an investigation. Noticed him wearing sunglasses and parked in a minivan. While speaking with him, a resident from a nearby home walked up to police and informed the officer they'd just gotten home and found someone had broken in through the back door. During the investigation, "a large amount of stolen property was located inside the minivan, linking Lopez to residential burglaries in multiple communities including Lake Forest, Highland Park, Skokie, and DuPage County."
