Chicago Man Arrested, Charged in Drug Case From 2015: Cops

Lake Forest police issued a warrant for Rafael Marinez, 34, but didn't take him into custody until Aug. 1.

LAKE FOREST, IL — A Chicago man was arrested Aug. 1 on drug charges in connection with a case from last year, according to police reports.

Rafael Martinez, 34, of the 1600 block of Glenn Drive, Chicago, was charged with attempted possession of a controlled substance after a warrant was issued for his arrest.

The warrant against Martinez was part of a case from 2015, and police had been unable to locate him. Lake Forest officers monitored the North Chicago area until he was apprehended at around 6:45 a.m. day, Aug. 1, the report stated.

Martinez was held in Lake County Jail on $25,000 bail.
