The Lake Forest City Council approved the new license's creation on Monday as part of coffee shop's request to serve alcoholic beverages at its soon-to-open Western Avenue location, the Daily North Shore reports. The Class C-4 liquor license permits businesses to serve only beer or wine, and they will only do that after 5 p.m., the report added.

Wine and beer, part of Starbucks' new Evenings Program, will be added to the menu when the national coffee shop chain moves in May from its current North Bank Lane location to a new spot at 672 N. Western Ave. Officially, Starbucks still needs to formally apply for the new license and have its application approved, the North Shore reports.
Starbucks' original request for standard liquor licenses to serve beer and wine was initially granted by the council in February. But officials pulled back from that approval in March in favor of creating this new license after researching the matter, according to the North Shore.
