'Cloud Of Smoke' In South Park Bathroom: Lake Forest Blotter
Lake Forest Arrest Reports: Feb. 1 - Feb. 16

LAKE FOREST, IL — The following information comes from the Lake Forest Police Department as a record of those arrested by police. Readers are reminded that an arrest is not an indication of guilt and criminal charges, which represent merely accusations by the state, are often dropped or reduced. All persons named are innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
ARRESTS/CITATIONS.
A 60-year-old Lindenhurst man was arrested at 9:06 a.m. in the 1800 block of North Waukegan Road and charged with speeding (70 mph in a 45 mph zone) and no valid driver's license following a traffic stop involving a radar reading.

A 55-year-old Niles man was ticketed for possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia on Feb. 3 at 7:26 a.m. at South Park, 150 South Maywood Rd. A cop on patrol checked out the pavilion and found the man in the men's room. After noticing "a cloud of smoke" that smelled of marijuana around the man, the officer stopped him, found a small amount of marijuana and a pipe and issued an administrative citation
A 24-year-old North Chicago man was ticketed for possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia at 3:52 a.m. on Feb. 5 in near the intersection of Route 41 and Old Elm Road following a traffic stop. Police said they pulled over the man's Buick for an "equipment violation" and spoke to the driver. While speaking to the man, they smelled marijuana and he told them his license was suspended. He was placed under arrest, and police found a bag with cannabis in it in the front center console.

Stefan A. Reidel, 18, of the 500 block of Crabtree Lane, Lake Forest was arrested at 2:49 a.m. on Feb. 10 near the intersection of Oakwood Avenue and Woodland Road and charged with minor consumption of alcohol, disobeying a traffic control device and violation of a zero tolerance law. A cop on patrol noticed him make a left turn on a red light at Deerpath and Green Bay roads and pulled him over. Police smelled alcohol on him and asked that he performed field sobriety tests. He "admitted to drinking beer earlier in the day."
A 32-year-old Waukegan man was arrested at 1:40 a.m. on Feb. 13 following a traffic stop near the intersection of Sheridan and Old Elm roads and charged with no valid driver's license and no vehicle insurance. After pulling over a motorist for a moving violations, police learned the man had no license or insurance.
A 38-year-old Antioch man was arrested at 8:14 p.m. on Feb. 14 and charged with excessive speeding (driving 80 mph in a 55 mph zone) and driving on a revoked license following a traffic stop on Route 41 near Deerpath Road.
