Cops Give Tired Cabbie A Break, Workout
Lake Bluff police pulled the driver over for erratic driving on his way home after an 18-hour shift but didn't ticket him.

LAKE BLUFF, IL — Instead of writing up a ticket for a driver they'd just pulled over, Lake Bluff police briefly did some late night personal training on the road.
Around 1 a.m. on Friday morning, officers got a complaint about a taxicab driving at very low speeds and weaving across lanes, according to police.
After pulling over the cab, cops learned the driver was very tired after working an 18-hour shift. The cabbie was nearly home at the time, and police decided not to issue citations.

Instead, the officers wanted to get the driver's blood flowing, so they did calisthenics with the cabbie, including squats and stretches.

"Don't wait for [police] to help you with jumping jacks before you take a break from the road," the department warned, in a Facebook post describing the incident.
Lake Bluff police reminded residents of the danger of tired driving, noting that sleepy drivers behave similarly to drunk drivers.
