'Disoriented' Man With Warrant; Drunk Teen Speeding: LF Blotter

LAKE FOREST, IL — The following information comes from the Lake Forest Police Department and court records as a record of those arrested by police. Readers are reminded that an arrest is not an indication of guilt and criminal charges, which represent merely accusations by the state, are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Lake County Circuit Clerk of Courts. All persons named are innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

A 22-year-old Lindenhurst woman was arrested at 8:31 p.m. on July 7 near the intersection of Deerpath Road and North Western Avenue and charged with driving with a suspended license following a traffic stop for expired plates.

A 38-year-old Zion woman was arrested at 1:47 p.m. on July 9 and charged with driving with a suspended license following a traffic stop near the intersection of McKinley Road and Mills Court. Police said she was witnessed talking on a cell phone while driving a van and later found not to have insurance.

Two Danville men, aged 28 and 29, were arrested following a traffic stop at 9:22 p.m. on July 9 near the intersection of Route 60 and Academy Road. The driver was found to be driving with a suspended driver's license. Police also smelled cannabis on the passenger and found an active warrant for his arrest issued out of Peoria.

A 32-year-old Lake Forest man was arrested following a traffic stop at 6:13 p.m. on July 12 near the intersection of Conway Farms and Old Bridge roads and charged with driving on a suspended license after a traffic stop. Patrolling police noticed a Honda disobey a traffic control device and learned the driver had a suspended license.

Jonathan G. Nicholas, 23, of the 5600 block of West Fullerton Avenue in Chicago, was arrested at 12:43 p.m. on July 13 in the 600 block of Western Avenue on an outstanding warrant from Cook County, along with a notice that he should be considered armed and dangerous, after police noticed a man at the train station appearing to be disoriented.

A 45-year-old Gurnee man was arrested shortly after 2 p.m. on July 14 near the intersection of Route 41 and Old Elm Road and charged with driving with a revoked license after police pulled over his pickup truck for pulling a trailer dragging along the ground.

A 19-year-old Schaumburg woman was arrested at 1:23 a.m. on July 15 near the intersection of Route 43 and Deerpath Road and charged with driving with a suspended license. Police pulled him over after he was seen using an electronic device while driving, for which he was also ticketed.

Jose A. Sosa-Orellana, 18, of the 400 block of North Sheridan Road in Waukegan, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence with a suspended license following a traffic stop around 1:30 p.m. on July 18 near the intersection of Route 41 and Route 60. Sosa-Orellana was also ticketed for speeding 71 mph in a 55 mph zone. Police determined he was impaired and arrested him, and he later produced a breath test indicating a blood alcohol concentration of 0.142.
