LAKE FOREST, IL — The following information comes from the Lake Forest Police Department and court records as a record of those arrested by police. ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Maria L. Mendez, 31, of the 700 block of Lenox Avenue in Waukegan, was arrested around 2 a.m. on June 28 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and possession of drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop near the intersection of Route 41 and Deerpath Road. Patrolling officers noticed a vehicle driving erratically while headed southbound on Route 41. They pulled over the vehicle and immediately smelled alcohol on the driver's breath and noticed she was showing signs of being drunk. She failed to complete several field sobriety tests and was arrested.

William M. Ori, 32, of the 600 block of Homewood Avenue in Highland Park, was arrested at 9:53 p.m. on July 1 in the 500 block of Bank Lane and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. Officers noticed a car driving the wrong way down a one-way street, pulled over the vehicle and spoke to Ori, the driver. Police smelled the strong smell of booze on his breath and noticed he appeared impaired. He told police he had two beers at a local bar, but he also admitted having been drinking beer all day. As a result of field sobriety tests, Ori was arrested. He was also ticketed for driving the wrong way on a one-way street.
