Driver Twice Over Legal Limit Almost Hits Guard Rail: Cops

The following information is from the Lake Forest Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

Daisy Alcaraz, 32, of the 1600 block of Whitney Street, Waukegan, was arrested and charged driving under the influence after a July 11 traffic stop.

Police pulled over Alcaraz at about 1:04 a.m. after responding to a call about a vehicle that almost hit a guard rail near Route 41 and Old Elm Road. During the stop, Alcaraz failed field sobriety tests and was taken into custody.

At the station, Alcaraz gave police a breath sample, which registered 0.195, more than twice the legal limit of 0.08.

Alcaraz was released on $3,000 bail, and her court date is Aug. 5.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

Latifah Toure, 27, of New York City, was arrested and charged with disorderly condcut after a July 6 incident.

Police encountered Toure at about 8:42 p.m. after responding to a disturbance at a business in the 200 block of East Illinois Road. Once there, officers noticed Toure yelling profanities and acting beliligerent with employees. The workers told police they were concerned for their safety and disturbed by Toure's behavior.

Toure also was verbally abusive to the responding officers, and they determined she was under the influence. She was then taken into custody by police.

Toure was released on $120 bail, and her court date is Aug. 30.
