East Lake Academy 2nd Grade Students Participate in Annual Seder Meal

In the Christian tradition, the Passover Seder is also believed to be when Jesus instituted the Eucharist. On April 17, 2014, as part of the students’ preparation for First Communion, the 2nd Grade class took part in Ms. Munda’s Annual Seder Meal.  The students had a chance to sample some of the typical foods served for the Seder celebration:  Grape Juice (in place of wine), matzo, horseradish, charoseth, parsley and lamb cake.  The gym was transformed into a dining room complete with tablecloth and candles. The students, lead by Mr. Lindemann as the Father, ate the Seder food and took part in the rituals (washing of hands, feet, dipping of foods in salt water, etc.)   Thank you to all the parents who joined the celebration and preparation, making the meal a memorable one for our 2nd Graders.
