Elderly Man Hit By Train and Killed in Lake Forest

An 87-year-old man from Lake County was struck by a train and killed Thursday afternoon in Lake Forest.

The man, whose identity is being withheld until his relatives are notified, was struck by a southbound Canadian Pacific freight train at 1:54 p.m. at the Lake Forest West Train Depot at 911 South Telegraph Road and killed immediately, according to police.

Detectives continue to investigate this incident in cooperation with the Metra Police Department, the Canadian Pacific Police Department and the Lake County Coroner’s Office.
