Erratic Naked Man Tased, Tackled After Fleeing Police: Blotter
Officers find sleeping driver rolling down road with baby in back seat; heroin found on DUI driver: Lake Forest-Lake Bluff Police Blotter

LAKE FOREST, IL — The following information comes from Lake Forest and Lake Bluff police and Lake County court records as a record of those arrested by police. Readers are reminded that an arrest is not an indication of guilt, and criminal charges, which represent merely accusations by the state, are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Lake County Circuit Clerk of Courts. All persons named are innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
ARRESTS
Daniel R. Munoz, 61, of the 1100 block of Mount Vernon Avenue, Lake Forest, was arrested around 10:15 p.m. Aug. 9 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop in the 900 block of Everett Road. Police reported he ran a stop sign, drove in the wrong lane, smelled of alcohol and failed field sobriety tests. He faces suspension of his driver's license for refusing to submit to a breath test.
Christopher A. Bernardi, 34, of the 100 block of Niles Avenue, Lake Forest, was arrested around 3:30 p.m. on Aug. 15 and charged with driving under the influence of drugs and possession of a controlled substance following a traffic stop on Route 41. Police reported getting a 911 call about an older Jeep unable to stay in a lane and, after locating the car and pulling it over, discovering that Bernardi, its driver, appeared to be too intoxicated to drive. Officers found a bag in Bernardi's pocket with a white powder inside that tested positive for heroin, and his license was suspended after he refused to submit to a drug test.

Enrique Lozano-Bustos, 43, of the 2600 block of Gilboa Avenue, Zion, was arrested around 12:30 a.m.on Aug. 16 around Rockland at Green Bay roads for a report of a drunk person. Police reported Lozano-Bustos was leaning against a car stopped halfway in the road. He said he did not have a driver's license, failed field sobriety testing and refused to provide a breath sample. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving without a valid license. Officer also cited him for illegal stopping and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
Jovani Diaz, 30, of the 5400 block of 25th Avenue, Kenosha, Wisconsin, was arrested around 11:30 p.m. on Aug. 20 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after officers were called to the scene of a one-car crash in the 100 block of South Green Bay Road near Onwentsia Road. Police reported finding a heavily damaged Jeep with four flat tires. Diaz, the driver, smelled of alcohol and talked about being intoxicated, according to police. He faces suspension of his driver's license after refusing to provide a breath sample.

Jennifer Leitschuh, 40, of the 1100 block of South Waukegan Road, Lake Forest, was arrested around 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 27 and charged with driving under the influence of drugs and child endangerment following an encounter with police in the 1100 block of Acorn Trail. Officers got a call of a driver asleep behind the wheel with a baby in the back seat and found the car slowly rolling down the road with Leitschuh slumped over in the driver's seat. Police reported she showed signs of impairment and failed field sobriety tests.
[Name Withheld], 24, of the 200 block of Ascot Court, Lake Bluff, was arrested on the afternoon of Aug. 30 and charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct, criminal damage and resisting arrest in connection with an incident the prior night. According to police, officers got a call that a naked man was trying to gain entry to a house in the 300 block of Green Bay Road. Dispatchers passed along word that he was spotted running in the 500 block of Lincoln Avenue. He damaged the top part of a wood privacy fence, refused commands, flailed his arms and acted unpredictably during his attempt to flee, police reported. After briefly lying on his back, the naked man, later identified as [Name Withheld], jumped the fence to escape a backyard before being tased by Officer Lisa Malkov. He nonetheless got up and continued running up and down the road before being tackled by three other Lake Bluff officers. Police reported he later told officers he believed a combination of substances he ingested had reacted badly together, leading him to shed his clothing after becoming very hot, believe police and all cars were out to get him and attempt to return to what he at the time believed to be his childhood home.
Michael P. Saydak, 19, of the 1100 block of South Waukegan Road, Lake Forest, was arrested around 7 p.m. Sept. 8 at his home on a warrant for two counts of domestic battery following a police investigation into an Aug. 28 incident.
