Lake Bluff History Museum’s Cottontail Club Speakeasy & Casino

The Cottontail Club Speakeasy & Casino is set for 7:30 p.m. Oct. 29  at the museum, 10 E. Scranton Ave., Lake Bluff.

The Cottontail Club Speakeasy and Casino features casino games, drinks, light eats, music and, perhaps, a visit from Al Capone and his cohorts who, according to local lore, used the Lake Bluff beach near Crab Tree Farm to bring in shipments of booze transported on Lake Michigan.

Tickets for the Pink Rabbit Ball are $35 per person, in advance, and $50 at the door. Space is limited and advance purchase is advised. Tickets may be purchased through the mail, at the Lake Bluff History Museum (Tuesdays/Thursdays 1-4 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.), and online at pinkrabbitball.com. Proceeds support the Lake Bluff History Museum.

The Cottontail Club Speakeasy & Casino represents a new twist on the museum’s popular Pink Rabbit Ball, which was patterned after an historic ball held annually in Lake Bluff during the early 1900s.
