Lake Forest Lyrica presents Cavatina Duo, who will perform works by Bach, Leisner, Takemitsu and Piazzolla in the Lily Reid Holt Memorial Chapel.
Since winning the “Young Musicians of the Doelen” competition in the Netherlands in 1996, the Cavatina Duo has captivated audiences with their electrifying performances across North America, Europe and Asia. The Duo’s repertoire includes music from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Contemporary periods.
A high point of their concerts is music inspired by the folk traditions of their native lands of Spain and the Balkans. The duo’s performances have been broadcast on radio and television stations in Europe and North America. They are the first guitar and flute duo to be featured on the cover of Classical Guitar Magazine (UK). They have recorded three CD’s for the Spanish and North American labels Opera Tres, Orobroy and Cedille Records. The duo’s blend of Spanish passion and Balkan sensibility make their concerts a unique experience.

Founded in 1994, Lake Forest Lyrica is a series of chamber music performed by some of the finest musicians from the Chicago area. Concerts are held on four Sundays in the intimate setting of the Lily Reid Holt Memorial Chapel on the beautiful campus of Lake Forest College. Tickets are $15 per concert or $50 for subscription (4 concerts); $5 for students with ID, payable by cash or check, in advance or at the door. Free for Lake Forest College students, faculty, and staff.
