Tucked away on 10 acres off Bradley Road in Lake Forest, Equestrian Connection is a special place where anyone can ride, no matter what challenges they face. With a primary focus on hippotherapy and therapeutic riding, Equestrian Connection offers services and supports for children and adults with needs, whether physical, psychological, emotional or medical – and no one is ever turned away.

This year’s Barn Party marks 10 years of “Heroes, Hope & Healing.” Among those heroes is Marty Domitrovich, whose vision and resources helped to get Equestrian Connection’s programs and tremendous facilities off the ground.

“I never imagined 10 years ago that our impact would be so pervasive,” reflects Schnell. “With every ride, our clients confront their disabilities and defy expectations. They are taking first steps, saying first words, gaining self confidence, strength and healing.”

Highlights for this year’s Barn Party will include a silent and live auction, cocktails and a catered dinner, and entertainment by “Under the Streetlamp,” which is the Chicago cast of the Broadway hit “Jersey Boys.” All proceeds from this event help to support future programs and provide financial support for families in need. Guests will also have the opportunity to view the Creative Connections 2010 art exhibition, featuring the artwork of over 20 individuals involved in Equestrian Connection’s Art Therapy Program.

Tickets can be purchased online now at http://www.signmeup.com/61439. Individual tickets for $100 per person until September 15 ($110 after) and premium table options are available. Shuttle buses will be provided from CDW on Riverwoods Road in Mettawa. For more information, please call Equestrian Connection at 847-615-8696 or visit www.equestrianconnection.org.
