Former Teacher Gets Trial Date in Sexual Assault Case
Michael Vucic is being held in Lake County Jail on charges he engaged in sexual activities with two students.

A Lake Forest man and former teacher who authorities say fled overseas to avoid charges he sexually assaulted two students will soon go to reial.
A trial date of April 13 has been set for Michael Vucic, 41, who is being held currently in Lake County Jail in lieu of $10 million bail - the Lake County News-Sun reports.
Vucic, formerly a teacher at Gavin Middle School in Ingleside, was initially charged in 2012 after a girl younger than 13 told her grandparents about inappropriate sexual contact with the teacher multiple times. He is now charged with multiple counts of predatory sexual assault, a Class X felony, as well as felony charges of sexual assault, criminal sexual abuse and possession and manufacturing of child pornography.

A state’s attorney said a second victim came forward in January, a 15-year-old girl. Prosecutors have claimed they have video evidence of Vucic engaging in the inappropriate behavior in his classroom.
