Gang Member Charged in Christmas Morning Shooting

The North Chicago street-gang member faces several charges in connection with the incident outside Nardo's BBQ Bar and Grill.

LAKE BLUFF, IL - A North Chicago street-gang member has been charged as one of multiple “persons of interest” in the investigation of an early Christmas morning shooting outside a bar near Lake Bluff that left three people hospitalized.

Saladine A. McKinney, 23, a street-gang member of the 1700 block of 16th St. in North Chicago, was charged with one count of aggravated battery with a firearm (Class X Felony), two counts of aggravated unlawful discharge of a firearm (Class 1 Felony) and one count of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon by a felon (Class 3 Felony) on Monday, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

McKinney is being held at the Lake County Jail in lieu of $250,000 bail, which was set at a bond hearing on Tuesday. His next court date is Jan. 28.

Three people - two men and one woman - were shot early Christmas morning in a parking lot outside Nardo’s BBQ Bar & Grill at 5 N. Skokie Highway in unincorporated Lake Bluff. They were all taken to local hospitals and survived.

According to police, an argument involving several people occurred inside the bar, then moved to the parking lot where numerous shots were fired.

The Sheriff’s Office indicated on Tuesday multiple persons of interest have been identified, but McKinney is the only one that has been charged.
