Highwood Unveils its New Pumpkin Project
Local business and artists have joined forces to decorate the streets of Downtown Highwood.

The Highwood Chamber of Commerce will unveil their Pumpkin Project on Saturday September 27th starting at 6:00pm at The Toadstool Pub, 327 Waukegan Avenue, Highwood. Local business and artists have joined forces to decorate the streets of Downtown Highwood in this outdoor public art exhibit to coincide with the Fifth Annual Great Highwood Pumpkin Festfrom October 17-19, 2014. The Pumpkin Project will feature 25 beautifully sculpted and designed artificial pumpkins on display throughout the streets of the Downtown Highwood business district, beginning September 28.
The pumpkins will then be moved to Pumpkin Fest Grounds where a Pumpkin Project Tent will have all 25 creations on display for a silent auction. Winners will be announced at Pumpkin Fest on Sunday, October 19th at 7:00pm.

Sponsored by Highwood businesses, pumpkins will be painted, carved, and decorated in mosaic. The name of the sponsor and partnering artist will be displayed prominently on each pumpkin. A portion of the proceeds from the Pumpkin Project silent auction will benefit CURE: RE Epilepsy, Misericordia, and theZacharias Sexual Abuse Center.
Participating businesses include the Toadstool Pub, Bent Fork Bakery, Jen Z’s Beauty Services, The Silk Thumb, Brian Lock State Farm Insurance, and Beck’s Heating & Air Conditioning.
