Hospira Still in Hot Water Despite Sale

Food and Drug Administration not satisfied with Lake Forest company's reply on violations at overseas facilities.

Lake Forest-based Hospira is still the focus of scrutiny from the Food and Drug Administration even after industry giant Pfizer signed off on buying them two months ago, Fortune reports.

The injectable drugmaker’s facilities in Italy has been identified as having significant violations that resulted in drugs that were “adulterated.” The FDA feels Hospira lacks “sufficient corrective actions” in their response to the complaint.

Complaints have also arisen regarding facilities the company has in the U.S., India and Australia.
