Vince Vaughn, Illinois Native, Charged With DUI, Obstruction

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — Actor and Illinois native Vince Vaughn was jailed early Sunday after being stopped on suspicion of DUI in California. TMZ reported Vaughn was stopped at a DUI checkpoint with a passenger in his car at around 4 a.m. in Manhattan Beach, about 30 minutes south of Los Angeles.

Police said Vaughn and his male passenger were initially uncooperative and refused to get out of the car, TMZ reported. Vaughn is charged with DUI and obstructing an officer. The passenger was charged with obstructing an officer and public intoxication.

Vaughn is a 1988 graduate of Lake Forest High School and spent most of his childhood in Buffalo Grove. In recent years, he sold his River North townhouse and, after five years of trying, his penthouse at Chicago's Palmolive Building.
