Keep Your Cars Locked: Lake Bluff Police

The Lake Bluff Police Department cautions residents on how to prevent car burglaries.

The Lake Bluff Police Department is urging local residents to keep their vehicles locked and valuables out of sight as the number of car burglaries typically increase during the holiday season.

“Most burglary to automobiles occur to unlocked cars; however, keeping purses and other valuables locked in the trunk or out of sight will help prevent people with criminal intentions from trying to force entry to locked automobiles,” the department wrote in a village memo issued Monday.

It’s important to keep them locked at all times, even at home in the driveway.
