Lake Bluff Teacher A Golden Apple Finalist

Lake Bluff Elementary School 3rd Grade teacher Amanda Willey is one of 30 finalists for the 2015 Golden Apple Awards for Excellence in Teaching, according to a submission on the Daily North Shore Wednesday.

More than 600 K-3 teachers throughout the greater Chicagoland area were nominated for the award. Ten will be declared award recipients in the spring.

“From the moment that I met Amanda Willey, I knew that she was an exceptional teacher, school leader and mentor,” said Lake Bluff Elementary School Principal Margaret St. Claire in her letter of recommendation of Wiley for the award.
