Lake County Gang Task Force Arrests Alleged Heroin Dealers, Finds Guns
Lake County Sheriff announces charges against 5 men after more than a dozen undercover heroin and illegal gun purchases.
LAKE FOREST, IL — The Lake County Sherrif's Gang Task Force has recently arrested four heroin dealers from the north suburbs after running a long-term operation, the Sherrif's office said Thursday. The most recent arrest took place Wednesday with a 21-year-old Gurnee man accused of selling fentanyl-laced heroin to undercover detectives.
At the Lake Forest Oasis, police arrested two men, a 27-year-old Waukegan man and a 24-year-old of Round Lake. Police found them with an AK-47 rifle and pistol, they now face drugs and weapons charges as the result of a "long-term" investigation which involved many purchases of large amounts of heroin, according to the task force.
"More and more communities are joining the task force," said Lake County Undersherif Ray Rose, "We will continue focusing our efforts combating gang and drug activity while continuing to educate the community."

The Lake County Sheriff’s Gang Task Force is made up of local and federal government agencies, including police departments from Lake Villa, Mundelein, North Chicago, Park City, Wauconda, Lakemoor, Grayslake as well as the FBI, DEA, ATF and the Department of Homeland Security.
