Lake Forest 4th Of July Fireworks: 2019 Guide, Scheduled Time

LAKE FOREST-LAKE BLUFF, IL — July 4th is quickly approaching, which means it's time to fire up that barbecue and find out what Fourth of July fireworks and festivities are going on near you this Independence Day. Patch has gathered up all the fireworks shows, parades and festivals happening in and around Lake Forest so you can start planning now.
As of Wednesday, the National Weather Service was predicting a high of 82 to 89 degrees Thursday for the Chicago area, but just like last year — when storms turned deadly on the 4th of July — scattered storms are a possibility. The NWS is predicting a 30 percent chance of storms both Wednesday and Thursday nights — so keep an eye out for weather-related fireworks cancellations.

The Lake Bluff 4th of July parade assembles at 8 a.m. before opening ceremonies at 9:40 a.m., a 9:50 a.m. start time for the children's parade, and a 10 a.m. start from Oak and East Center avenues. Teachers and staff at Lake Bluff schools are the parade marshal.
After the parade, the fourth annual Kiwanis hamburger and hot dog cook out is set for the Village Green, and music at the gazebo begins at noon. There also will be kids activities until 4 p.m. From 6 to 8 p.m., the Lake Bluff Park District hosts a concert from cover band Final Say at Sunrise Beach.

The Lake Forest Festival and Fireworks takes place from 5 to 10 p.m. on July 4 at Deerpath Community Park in Lake Forest. A live performance from Liverpool Legends, a Beatles tribute band made up of musicians and actors selected by George Harrison's sister, begins at 6 p.m. At 8 p.m., Wisconsin-based "top 40 country group" Bella Cain hits the stage.
Then at 9:40 p.m. the "greatest fireworks display on the North Shore" fills the skies, according to organizers. There will be food and drink available for sale, or visitors can bring their own. Proceeds benefit the Friends of the Lake Forest Parks and Recreation.
Tickets are on sale now for $15 for Lake Bluff and Lake Forest residents, $20 for non-residents. They will be available at the recreation office starting June 26. Family, VIP and parking passes also available. General admission tickets only will be available for cash on the day of the event.
