Lake Forest Assistant City Manager Resigns
Carina Walters has accepted City Administrator position in Burlington, Wisconsin.

Lake Forest Assistant City Manager Carina Walters will be moving on to a new role as City Administrator for the city of Burlington, Wisconsin.
“I am grateful to the City for many things, including the great staff, the three Mayors and City Councils I have worked with, and meeting and developing relationships with so many wonderful residents,” said Walters, who worked for the city of Lake Forest for ten years.
During her tenure as Assistant City Manager, Walters served as a key player in the Electric Aggregation Consortium and referendum in 2012, implementing the Real Estate Transfer Tax and was instrumental in securing more than $4 million in grant funding for the East Side Train Station rehabilitation and the Telegraph Road Train Station underpass.

“We are extremely proud and pleased that this opportunity has opened up for Carina, both personally and professionally,” said City Manager Bob Kiely. “She is a very competent local government manager and will be an excellent City Administrator for Burlington.”
Walters was selected from a group of 55 applicants for the position in Burlington following a nationwide search.

A replacement for Walters should be named within the next few months, Kiely said.
“Lake Forest has been fortunate to have Carina Walters serve the City with great enthusiasm and professionalism. We will miss her and wish her the best in her new position,” added Mayor Don Schoenheider.
