Lake Forest Claims Second in Intramural Football Tourney Finals

Scouts finish with 4-1 postseason mark.

recently participated in 34-team intramural flag football league for Chicagoland high schools, finishing second in the postseason tournament to Joliet Catholic.

The program is set up by Pat McCaskey of the Chicago Bears, and features teams from the Chicago Catholic, Chicago Public, Suburban Catholic, and Suburban Public high schools.

Lake Forest advanced to the semifinals by knocking off Loyola Academy, Notre Dame and Libertyville. In the semifinals, Lake Forest stopped Mount Carmel, 6-0, on a touchdown pass from George Quall to John Hayes.

In the finals, Joliet Catholic Academy posted a 24-8 win over Lake Forest. The lone Scouts score was a touchdown pass from Quall to Hayes, and the two-point conversion pass from Quall to Joey Lassaco.

The rest of the Lake Forest roster included: Ryan Ganshirt, Will Owens, Teddy Pereira, Jonathan Pilarski, Johnny Poth, Jonathon Sirus, Brad Stambolic, Luke Streppa, Mike Affourtit, Teddy Dempsey, Nolan Dohnalek, Cam England, Henry Erzinger, Jack Figliulo, Peter Grumhaus, Nick Kester, August Klatt, Matt Phillips, Dan “Diesel” Saffrin, Joe Santellom, Drew Stoll, John Tsarwhas, Matt Vallortigara, Wyatt Wagenknecht, Cody Baker, Robert Kesman and Marco Loiacano.
