Lake Forest Country Day School Students to Participate in Local Art Show
The Deer Path Art League Hosts Emerging Artist Exhibit for National Youth Art Month

The Lake Forest Country Day School (LFCDS) Visual Arts Department has been invited to participate in the annual Deer Path Art League’s Emerging Artist show. The exhibit coincides with the National Youth Art month and is designed to celebrate young artists. The Deer Path Art League has invited students from kindergarten through high school from schools in the surrounding area to represent select art work at the Emerging Artist show.
This year, the LFCDS Visual Arts Department will display artwork from fifteen students from first through eighth grade at the exhibit. The pieces were selected based on teacher-evaluated criteria, including the student’s artistic merit, classroom efforts, and objectives.

Artwork from LFCDS first-grade students Hal Jenkins and Rafael Kelliher, second-grade students Rosie Meyer and Malorie Mursau, third-grade students Michael Springer and Lulu Flavin, fourth-grade students Brooke Mordini and Sophia Maggos, fifth-grade students Max Fleisch and Nate Woldenberg, sixth-grade students Calvin Osborne and Cameron Wacker, seventh-grade students Obi Okoli and Anna Schilling, and eighth-grade student Sasha Skarlov have been selected for the gallery.
According to LFCDS Visual Arts teacher Kirsten Anderson, “This community-based art show celebrates students from the wider Lake Forest area by exhibiting their artwork in a professional venue. At this show, our students have the unique opportunity to have their artworks viewed by many people across the community. It also has been exciting in years prior to see some of our past graduates present their high school work in this show.”
