Lake Forest Dancers Make the Moves With the Stars

"So You Think You Can Dance?" cast members teach master class at Lake Forest's LoMastro.

Dancers who attended Sunday's LoMastro Performing Arts Academy "Day of Dance" were given an opportunity to meet, ask questions of, and learn from two former cast members of the TV show, "So You Think You Can Dance?"

Allison Holker, who was a All-star cast member from Season 7, and Phillip Attmore, a Season 6 contestant, spent the day with students, sharing their experiences, and expertise in Jazz, Contemporary, Tap and Theater Dance.

Sarah Verville, founder and creator of the dance convention/competition company, Fluid Dance, and Sauve, founder of Hip Hop Connexion,  rounded out the students' dance curriculum.

In addition to the classes, and question and answer session, the students were taught what to expect at a dance audition, and tips for performing their best. Verville then auditioned the dancers, and with the help of the other guest instructors, awarded two full scholarships and four half scholarships to attend the Fluid Dance Convention next year.

Ben Reinkemeyer and Alexis Shoemaker were awarded half scholarships for the 6-12 age group, and Hope Horn recieved the full scholarship.
