Lake Forest resident helps kick off the 2015 Bank of America Chicago Marathon
The 38th annual Bank of America Chicago Marathon will take place on Sunday, October 11, 2015

Lake Forest resident and Bank of America Illinois President Tim Maloney, Race Director Carey Pinkowski, legendary American runner Joan Benoit Samuelson and Commissioner of the City of Chicago’s Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events Michelle T. Boone kicked off the 38th annual Bank of America Chicago Marathon on Thursday, October 8, 2015.
Since its inception in 1977, the Chicago Marathon has steadily evolved into one of the top marathons worldwide. This year, the race welcomes more than 40,000 runners – elites, alumni and first-timers – to experience Chicago and 29 of its unique neighborhoods through this world-class event. Additionally, thousands of runners admirably choose to run for charity programs, benefiting organizations in the Chicago community and around the world.
During the press conference, the speakers highlighted what to expect during race weekend, elaborated on the importance of the partnerships made throughout the city, country and world, and discussed how each of these connections encompasses the spirit of the Bank of America Chicago Marathon.
