Lake Forest Schools Looking To Fill Volunteer Positions

Apply to serve LFHS as a community representative or nominate your suggestions for APT board members.

LAKE FOREST, IL — Lake Forest elementary and high school districts are seeking volunteers to serve as community representatives for District 115 board committees and as board members for the District 67 Association of Parents & Teachers. Applications for the committee membership are due next week, while nominations are being accepted for the APT's executive until January.

District 115

One of the best opportunities to be involved in LFHS District 115 is by serving as a Community Representative on one of our Board Committees. Community members interact with Board Members and Administrators, participate in the important committee work of the district, and provide valuable input from our citizens, parents and other stakeholders.

The District 115 board recently announced an opening on its Education Committee and all residents, both parents and non-parents, are invited to complete the data sheet to indicate interest in filling this vacancy. An appointment to this committee is for a two-year term.

The Education Committee provides oversight to all major District educational initiatives and offers insight to the Board of Education on major topics or matters related to curriculum and instruction. The committee oversees the accomplishment of educational strategic initiatives and improvement of student outcomes. (The committee meets 4-5 times per academic year, currently on Tuesday mornings from 7:30 to 9 am.)

If you are interested in serving on the District 115 Education Committee, please submit online or return the attached data sheet to: Eileen Faller, Board Clerk, District Administrative Center, 300 S. Waukegan Rd., Lake Forest, Phone: 847-604-7420, Email: efaller@lfschools.net) by Dec. 1, 2017.

Positions that need to be filled include vice-president and recording secretary of the executive board and president of the APT at Cherokee and Sheridan schools – who can be nominated only by parents from those schools.
