Wael Farouk is Roosevelt University’s youngest piano professor and said Henry Fogel, Dean of Roosevelt’s Chicago College of Performing Arts, “Farouk is an extremely impressive pianist.” Born in Egypt, at age 7 he studied at the Cairo Conservatory, made his concert debut with the Cairo Symphony Orchestra at age 12, and at age 21, won a Fulbright Fellowship and moved to the United States. His home is now in Chicago.
The January stars of the Symphony are truly international as Maestro Kulenovic was born in Belgrade, Yugoslavia and immigrated to the U.S. at age 12. His vitae is most impressive as currently he is the associate conductor of the Utah Symphony and resident conductor of the Belgrade Philharmonic. He is the recipient of innumerable prizes including the 2012, 2013 and 2014 Sir Georg Solti Foundation U.S. Grants, the Solti Opera Residency with the Florentine Opera Company, and the Bruno Walter Memorial Scholarship.
