Lake Forest Symphony November Concerts

The Lake Forest Symphony will perform its second concert pair of the season on November 7 at 8 pm and November 8, 2015 at 2 pm.

The concerts will be held at the James Lumber Center for the Performing Arts, 19351 West Washington Street, Grayslake. Maestro Vladimir Kulenovic, now in his second season with the Orchestra, will be conducting. The music will include works by Haydn, the Grieg Piano Concerto and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7, and feature guest pianist Joaquin Achucarro. Achucarro was born in Spain and made his debut at the age of 13 playing a Mozart Concerto. He won the 1959 Liverpool International Competition which led to his debut with the London Symphony Orchestra. He has worked in 59 countries playing with innumerable ensembles including the Berlin Philharmonic, New York Philharmonic and Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and with conductors such as Claudio Abbado, Zubin Mehta and Sir Simon Rattle.

In his 13th season with the Orchestra, Compose and Lecturer Jim Kendros will give a pre-concert lecture one hour before each performance. A new event is the Listener’s Circle, also led by Jim Kendros, in which he covers material not found in his pre-concert talks. The Listener’s Circle will meet Thursday, November 5, 2015 at 7 pm at the Lake Forest Library.

Tickets to the November 7 and 8, 2015 concerts range from $35-59. For further information, please call 847.295.2135 or visit www.lakeforestsymphony.org.
