League Of Women Voters Hosts Candidate's Debate
Republicans running in the 10th District and Democratic candidates for Lake County Clerk will be on hand Sunday in Bannockburn.

BANNOCKBURN, IL — The League Of Women Voters announced it is holding debates among candidates in two hotly contested local primary races this weekend. Three Republican 10th District Congressional candidates will square off, along with two Democrats competing to run for Lake County County Clerk.
The debate will take place Feb. 18, from 2 to 4 p.m. (Doors open at 1:30 p.m.) at North Shore Unitarian Church, 2100 Half Day Rd., Bannockburn.
The candidates in the March 20 Republican primary to challenge Democratic incumbent Rep. Brad Schneider are Doug Bennett, Sapan Shah and Jeremy Wynes.

The trio of political newcomers have widely differing policy positions, LWV noted:
Controversial areas the candidates may not agree on include infrastructure, Israel, healthcare, tort reform, spending, and the travel ban. As the three candidates have not held office previously, their answers will be important to help voters decide their candidate for the November general election.
The two Democrats hoping to challenge Carla Wycoff to become Lake County Clerk are Adam Broad and Robin O'Connor. They have both "voiced different approaches" on ways to improve the office.

Four local chapters of the League of Women Voters – Deerfield Area, Glenview/Glencoe, Highland Park/Highwood, and LWV-Lake Forest/Lake Bluff Area – are cosponsoring the event, along with the North Shore Unitarian Church.
