Man Finds Out Pot, Downloading Music and Driving Don't Mix
The Glencoe driver was pulled over by Lake Forest police during an enforcement patrol for cell phone violations.

LAKE FOREST, IL — A Glencoe man found out the hard way you shouldn't download music while driving. Especially if you're carrying pot in your car.
Danial M. Bender, 25, of the 200 block of Maple Hill Road, was charged with driving while using a cell phone and possession of marijuana during an Aug. 3 traffic stop. His court date is Sept. 14.
Bender was pulled over at about 8:35 p.m. near the intersection Route 60 and Field Drive while an officer was on a directed enforcement patrol for cell phone violations, according to a Lake Forest police report. The officer stopped Bender after he noticed the man was using his cell phone while driving, the report added.

During the stop, the officer reported smelling burnt pot coming from Bender's vehicle. The driver admitted he had marijuana with him when the officer asked him about it, and pot was found during a vehicle search, according to the report.

And Bender didn't just admit to having pot, the report stated. He also told the officer that he was buying music on his iPhone just before being stopped, according to the police report.
