  • Where/When: 2007 Civic Center Way, Round Lake Beach; 7-8 p.m. Friday (March 18).
  • Why Go: Come with friends or family to learn the fundamentals of creating cartoon characters. Wonderful workshop for independent fun, or to enjoy with others.
  • Pricing: $5 per person.

 

Chicago’s Latin Diva of Comedy: Patti Vasquez at Zanies

  • Where/When: 230 Hawthorn Village Commons, Vernon Hills; 8 and 10 p.m., Friday, (March 18).
  • Why Go: Spend an evening of laughs with Chicago’s Vasquez, as she pokes fun of family, work and the world at large.

College of Lake County Presents 'Orestes'

  • Where/When: James Lumber Center for the Performing Arts, 19351 W. Washington St., Grayslake; 9:30 and 11:30 a.m., Friday (March 18).
  • Why Go: View the popular Greek Tragedy directed by Rebekah Scallet which chronicles siblings Orestes and Elektra, who plot to kill their mother to avenge their father’s death.
  • Pricing: $9 for general public, $7 for CLC affiliates and seniors. 

 

Improv Playhouse Showstoppers Performs ‘Guys and Dolls’

  • Where/When: 2007 Civic Center Way, Round Lake Beach; 7 p.m. Friday (March 18); 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday (March 19) and 2 p.m. Sunday (March 20).
  • Why Go: Delight in the lively popular play where, in a fictional New York City world, a set of charismatic characters have become musical theatre legends.
  • Pricing: $12 for adults, $8 for children, seniors, military, free for kids under age 3.

 

KeyLime Cove’s Third Annual Spring Wedding Gala

  • Where/When: KeyLime Cove Indoor Waterpark Resort, 1700 Nations Dr., Gurnee; 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday (March 20).
  • Why Go: Come shop among Chicagoland’s reputable wedding vendors to help you plan your wedding. Featured will be Memory Makers Entertainment, The Flower After, AAA Tent Masters & Party Rentals, a fashion show by Aphrodite Designs and much more.
  • Pricing: Free to the public.

 

Wedding Walk 2011

  • Where/When: Downtown Libertyville; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Saturday (March 19).
  • Why Go: Take a nice walk through the wedding row downtown Libertyville. Chat with wedding merchants while visiting over 20 vendors offering samples, raffle tickets for wedding accoutrement and special promotions throughout the day.
  • Pricing: Free to the public, kids welcome.
