  • Where/When: James Lumber Center for the Performing Arts, 19351 W. Washington St., Grayslake; 8 p.m. Friday (March 25).
  • Why Go: Check out this folksy, mystical Philadelphia-based group’s concert as it performs legendary band Led Zeppelin favorites live.
  • Pricing: Tickets $30-40; $15 for CLC students; $12 for children under 12.

 

‘Guys and Dolls’ the Musical

  • Where/When: Marriott Theatre; 10 Marriott Drive, Lincolnshire; 8 p.m. Friday (March 25); 4:30 and 8 p.m. Saturday (March 26), and 1 and 5 p.m. Sunday (March 27).
  • Why Go: Delight in the lively popular play where, in a fictional New York City world, a set of charismatic characters have become musical theatre legends. Enjoy Frank Loesser’s classic score, including the hit tune, “Lucky Be a Lady.”

Ice Meltin’ Blues Musical Event

  • Where/When: Long Grove Historic Village, downtown Long Grove; Saturday and Sunday, March 26-27, all day.
  • Why Go: Enjoy this event in historic Long Grove Village, as talented musicians bring music to warm the soul and chase away winter. Music will be featured at a number of downtown venues, including The Village Tavern, Long Grove Café, The Olive Tap, The Keeping Room, Mangel Gifts and Viking Treasures.

Jake Johanssen at Zanies

  • Why Go: Spend an evening of fun with reputable comedian Jake Johanseen’s subtle and intelligent style of national headlining stand up.

‘Special Needs’ Performed at the Clockwise Theatre

  • Where/When: 221 N. Genessee St., Waukegan; 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday (March 25-26), and 3 p.m. Sunday (March 27).
  • Why Go: ‘Special Needs’ is a play that explores a family raising an autistic son. Uplifting themes like faith and friendship are presented in a lighthearted, humorous fashion, while all the while maintaining a poignant mood.
