WHAT: The third annual Ragdale Ring Gala honors architect Howard Van Doren Shaw with the first viewing of “Shaw Town,” a contemporary, playful interpretation of Shaw’s original 1912 open-air theater inspired by his work. Guests will meet the people of Shaw Town, an eclectic, eccentric cast of characters encountered in the Ragdale gardens and experience a moveable feast, live performance and auction on stage. The themed event takes its inspiration from the contrasting aesthetics of the elegant Belle Epoque (1890-1919) during which Shaw worked and retro-futuristic Steampunk interpretation of that period. Guests are encouraged to wear fanciful attire, garden-friendly footwear and a wrap for cool evenings.
