Ravinia Recap: Hall & Oates, Company of Thieves
Crowd for sold-out performance fills Ravinia Sunday night.
Local rockers Company of Thieves opened Sunday night at for their friends, Hall & Oates, who gave the audience at the sold-out lawn and pavilion performance every big hit it came to hear.
Daryl Hall had heard Company of Thieves perform before the band’s debut album in 2009 and invited them out to appear with him, according to Thieves’ frontwoman Genevieve Schatz. So began a friendship, and an opportunity to open at Ravinia on Sunday night.
Hall & Oates took the stage with a run of Billboard Hot 100 hits to which concertgoers danced and sang along. When asked who they came to see, audience members, without question, said the duo's names and began to sing one song or another.
