A Safe Place to Host 3rd Annual EmpoweRun 5K
Run or walk and fundraise to help A Safe Place continue providing services to victims of domestic violence in Lake County.

There has never been a better time than now to stand up and help crusade against domestic violence. Join A Safe Place at 9am on Saturday, May 2nd for the Third Annual EmpoweRun 5K Run/Walk at Independence Grove in Libertyville. The community’s support is essential to the fight against domestic violence.
A Safe Place is committed to breaking the cycle of violence and continuing the conversation about domestic abuse in Lake County. The organization is the sole provider of services exclusively for victims of domestic violence in Lake County and the surrounding areas. By running as an individual or forming a team, local runners can help raise funds to help deliver life-saving shelter, counseling, and crisis support to our neighbors experiencing domestic violence.
Runners can fundraise from friends and family directly on the race website. There is also an option to register as an “Invisible Runner” for those who would like to sleep in on Saturday morning, or will not be able to attend the May 2nd event. Pre-registration for the 5K run/walk is $35, $45 the day of the event. Children under 5 are $15, $25 the day of the event. All runners will receive a t-shirt and race bag. Awards will be given for race and age group winners.
