Stolen SUV Abandoned In Harvey, Purse In Northfield: Blotter
Incidents and arrests from the Lake Forest police blotter for Jan. 1 to Jan. 11

LAKE FOREST, IL — The following information comes from the Lake Forest and Lake Bluff police departments and court records as a record of those arrested by police. Readers are reminded that an arrest is not an indication of guilt and criminal charges, which represent merely accusations by the state, are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Lake County Circuit Clerk of Courts. All persons named are innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
INCIDENTS
STOLEN VEHICLE
On the morning of Jan. 1, police were called to the 100 block of Stone Avenue for a report that a Dodge SUV had been stolen after it was left unlocked with a key fob inside. Officers found suspicious footprints nearby other parked cars in the same block. Later on New Year's Day, police in Northfield found a purse that turned out to have been stolen from the vehicle. Three days later, the vehicle was found abandoned in Harvey. There were no suspects identified at the time of the report.
CAR BURGLARY
A resident in the 900 block of Buena Road reported around 7:30 a.m. on Jan. 2 that someone had stolen a laptop and briefcase after rummaging through an unlocked car parked in their driveway during the prior overnight hours.

ARRESTS
A 20-year-old Palatine man was arrested around 9:15 p.m. on Jan. 2 and charged with driving without a driver's license after he was pulled over for going 66 mph in a 45 mph zone around Route 60 at Academy Road. He was also issued a speeding ticket.
A 25-year-old Wilmette man was arrested around 12:30 a.m. on Jan. 5 and charged with possession of cannabis after he was pulled over for driving 75 mph in a 55 mph zone around Route 41 and Deerpath Road. During the traffic stop, an officer smelled marijuana on the man and soon found a bag containing 14 grams of cannabis. The man was also issued a speeding ticket.

A 50-year-old Chicago man was arrested at 11:52 p.m. and charged with possession of drug driving without a valid license and possession of drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop on a red Kia driving erratically and violating various traffic laws in the area of Route 41 and Gage Lane. While officers were speaking to him, they noticed a small baggie with drug paraphernalia in the front seat with a 35-year-old Dolton woman. She was released without charges, although police found she had some unknown substances that were sent to the lab for testing ahead of possible possession of a controlled substance charges.
A 54-year-old Lake Forest man was arrested around 1:45 a.m. on Jan. 9 and charged with driving with a suspended license following a traffic stop of a black Chevy with expired plates in the area of Route 60 and Waukegan Road.
