Woman With Alzheimer's Reported Missing in Lake County
The woman reportedly walked away from her home in Green Oaks Monday morning.

A 77-year-old Green Oaks woman who suffers from Alzheimer’s is missing and police think she could be in danger.
Mitsuko “Mikko” Washinush was reported missing from her home in the 1800 block of White Fence Lane in Green Oaks Monday, according to a Lake County Sheriff’s Office press release. She was last seen by family members around 8:30 a.m.

“Her family left for a morning appointment and when they returned at approximately noon, she was no longer home,” according to the news release. “ It’s believed she left on foot and became confused, forgetting her way home.“
She does not drive and on top of Alzheimer’s, suffers from other medical conditions.

A woman matching Washinushi’s description was spotted at 2 p.m. in the area of North River Road and Guerin Road in unincorporated Libertyville. At that time she was seen walking on foot.
Washinushi is described as being 5 feet 3 inches and 105 pounds. She has brown eyes and black hair. She was last seen wearing a light blue or white sweater, black leggings, and grey/blue tennis shoes. Washinushi walks with a limp and is slightly hunched.
Police are asking anyone who spots Washinushi to contact local law enforcement immediately.
