No one is in custody for the early Friday shooting, which occurred just doors away from the office of 44th Ward Ald. Tom Tunney.

Tunney addressed the recent crime wave that’s taken place in the neighborhood, much of which is in the 19th Police District.

“We will not tolerate crime in Lakeview,” Tunney wrote in his weekly ward newsletter released Thursday. “I have been aggressively working with the police department and Mayor Emanuel for more police resources in our area. I believe these increases are necessary to positively impact safety in the ward.”

He said other measures that could be taken include the creation of new block clubs, an expansion of private security, new street lighting and more security cameras.
