3 Men Accused of Robbing Women as They Walked Alone in Lake View

The men were charged in connection with 2 robberies early Saturday in the neighborhood.

CHICAGO, IL — Three men were charged in connection with two Lake View robberies over the weekend, according to Chicago police.

The following South Side men face two counts of aggravated robbery with a fireram and a a single count of robberty, police said:

  • Jwan Farley, 20, 8100 block of South Kenwood Avenue
  • Joseph Lewis, 20, 11200 block of South Peoria Street
  • Donzell Lloyd, 19, 800 block of South Dante Avenue

All three are being held at the Cook County Jail on $90,000 bail.

Police accuse the three men of robbing women in two separate incidents Saturday, Dec. 3 — one at about 2:40 a.m. in the 900 block of West Grace Street and another at around 2:45 a.m. at West Waveland Avenue.

In both cases, the women were walking alone when a vehicle would drive up from an alley and block their progress, police said. The women were then confronted by the robbers, who claimed they had weapons and demanded the women's belongings.

A friend of one of the victims was nearby during one of the robberies, and that friend got the vehicle's licnse plate of the vehicle involved in the incidents. Officers caught up with the vehicle in the 1600 block of North Lake Shore Drive, police said.

The suspects were taken into custody, and the items reported stolen were recovered, according to police. Lewis and Lloyd were initially charged in the incidents, with charges filed against Farley a few hours later.
