Camp Lovers Everywhere Get the Gay Cult-Classic They Have Been Dreaming of
CHICAGO—Two Chicagoans are producing a musical version of the cult-classic movie, Showgirls, this October at Chicago’s Stage 773. Having raised funding for the project this summer on Kickstarter—a digital fundraising program for artists and dreamers—Showgirls the Musical more-than hit it’s fundraising goal on July 29: essentially giving the “green light” to A Touch Too Much productions as they build their musical—the answer to every middle-aged gay man’s prayers.
Showgirls the Musical will debut at Chicago’s Stage 773, on their cabret stage Friday, October 12, at Midnight. “I’m not into blackbox and other types of theater where one really has to make use of their imagination. We’re serving it to you on a gently used knock-off Cristal platter. We’ve got limited resources, but we use our space and technology really smart. The whole theater has become the show. Between projections, amazing vocal arrangements, amazing costumes, and a top-notch dance troop, I think people will be surprised just how much they are getting for a $20 ticket.”
Tickets for Showgirls the Musical are currently on sale at www.stage773.com and www.showgirlsmusical.com for $20 and $25 dollars.

About Showgirls the Musical
Showgirls the Musical, produced by A Touch Too Much—a production duo formed solely to bring this project to life—is answering the prayers of middle-aged-gays everywhere. The camp cult-classic makes its way to a Chicago stage in October 2012 as a musical parody of the film. The small production tells a story of unrelenting ambition as you watch a stripper lap-dance her way to the top of the shady Vegas nightlife.
