Holiday Fun for the Entire Family
CHICAGO – Street Tempo Theatre proudly presents It’s A Wonderful Santa Land Miracle Nut Cracking Christmas Story… Jews Welcome, a multimedia holiday extravaganza for the entire family at Stage 773, 1225 W. Belmont Ave. Opening Night/Press Night is Monday, Nov. 19 at 7:30 p.m. The regular run is Friday, Nov. 23 – Sunday, Dec. 30 and performance times are Fridays and Saturdays and 8 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. Ticket prices are $15 for previews (Friday, Nov. 16 at 8 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 17 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 18 at 3 p.m.) and $28 for the regular run. Street Tempo Theatre packs the whole holiday season into one festivous, exciting, cheery and merry show. Audiences will be taken on a seasonal adventure with singing, dancing, stories, interactive games and non-holiday specific eggnog. Spend time with family and friends amidst a fun flurry of excitement that combines many of the world's most beloved holiday stories and traditions in one pretty package that won't hurt your pocketbook. Oh, and the guy with the white beard will probably show up along with some of our favorite holiday characters. This is an all holiday and all ages show appropriate for the entire family.
ABOUT THE DIRECTORS
Brian Posen (Director), founder of Street Tempo Theatre has been included in PerformInk as one of the most influential people in the Chicago theater scene and NewCity named Posen as one of the “Top 30 Players Who Really Perform in Chicago.” Posen is the Artistic Director of Stage 773, Street Tempo Theatre & Liminality Theatre. He is the founder and executive producer of The Annual Chicago Sketch Comedy Festival ("A raging Lakeview comedic beast" -Chicago Tribune), as well as the founder and director of The Cupid Players ("Best Sketch Comedy Group in Chicago"-Chicago Reader). Posen has been active in the Chicago theater scene for more than 20 years as an actor, producer, director and teacher. Posen has received several awards including ‘Jeff’ and ‘After Dark’ awards. He is program head at the Second City Training Center, where he has been teaching improvisation since 1993, as well as teaching at Columbia College Chicago since 1994. Posen has also taught in countless number of institutions, including Actors Theater in Louisville and Steppenwolf Theater. He has performed in and directed hundreds of productions. Posen received his MFA in Acting from the University of Illinois. He is a member of SAG and AFTRA.
Jack Short (Music Director) has worked in Chicago Theatre over 20 years as a musician and as an administrator. As part of the Stage 773 staff, Short runs the marketing, ticketing, and special events along with tenant services. Programs. He was also part of the Apple Tree Theatre administrative staff for several years in the development, ticketing and education offices. As a composer Short has written full length musicals and contributed tunes to numerous other productions at theaters includeing Theatre Bam, Stage Left, Theatre Building Chicago and more. He serves on the board of directors for the Dupage Symphony Orchestra and Normal Moments, both of Naperville.

Stage 773 celebrates off-Loop Chicago performing arts and artists. Formerly known as Lukaba Productions, Stage 773 is a non-profit Chicago company that produces The Cupid Players, Bri-Ko, The Chicago Sketch Comedy Festival, The Chicago Women’s Funny Festival and other programs, as well as offering subsidized theater rental space to the hundreds of itinerant off-Loop companies and performers.
