Chicago Cubs Fan Chugs Beer After Catching Foul Ball in Her Cup

For a fandom always searching for a sign that the curse against the Cubs has been lifted, maybe this is hope.

A Chicago Cubs fan snagged a foul ball with her cup of beer in the top of the 9th inning in Saturday’s Cubs-Padres game, and then she chugged the frothy brew much to the delight of her seatmates. Krista Dotzenrod, of Chicago, told the Chicago Sun-Times the ball just fell right into her cup near third base.

“It all happened in five seconds. ... I chugged the beer and wished the Cubs a great year. The ball is now sitting in my apartment,” she said.

Dotzenrod’s big catch makes her a ”big catch,” too, apparently. She’s been hit up for date requests on Twitter.

“That is funny to me,” she said. “I am single.”
